Port Health Authorities are responsible for monitoring all food imports and enforce
the regulations of the FSA (Food Standards Agency) and Defra (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs).
Checks on food at the point of import are in place throughout Europe to control the risks to human and animal health.
One of the groups of products that are subject to special checks are POAO (Products of Animal Origin). This includes live animals, foodstuffs, by-products and goods that may have come into contact with animals, such as hay and straw.
Port Health's remit also covers verifying organic products at point of importation, and monitoring of such produce.
To get your consignment released and delivered as fast as possible, let Zygo
handle your entry documentation and Port Health levy's.
